Monogramming with Silhouette Frosted Glass Vinyl

Check out this fun project I made with Silhouette Frosted Glass vinyl.  This vinyl is made to look like the effects of using etching cream on glass, but without the mess. I made monogrammed hand soap and hand lotion set to fancy up our bathroom. I purchased this hand soap and lotion set at Homegoods store for $7.99, plus it came with a cute dish. I started by removing the labels. I peeled as much of the label as possible, by hand, and then I sprayed WD40 on the remainder of the label and glue to remove it. I carefully cleaned my bottles with rubbing alcohol to prepare them for the vinyl monogram. I quickly typed in my monogram to the Silhouette software, arranged the letters, welded them to make one piece and then cut my vinyl with my Silhouette Cameo. I recently received a copy of Fit Moms For Life: How To Have Endless Energy To Outplay Your Kids.  I glanced at it and then went about my everyday business or running this website and taking care of my kids.

Once I finally looked at it I realized that I fit perfectly fit the demographic of this book.  Instead of making myself and my health a priority, I let many other things take precedence.  I plan to make some changes with my fitness and diet and  reading this book has helped me.

I love Dustin Maher’s fitness philosophy and how he set up the book.

 

Moms feel overworked and under appreciated. Fit Moms For Life acknowledges the challenges and struggles moms face in getting in shape, but provides a road map that is very doable because of the short workouts and eating plan that is designed for moms on the go. Each chapter contains 3-4 stories of moms who have already conquered their weight loss battles and share their wisdom and advice to the moms reading Fit Moms For Life. Their stunning before and after pictures are a reminder of what is possible. The workout plan is anti-cardio based. They believe that long distance cardio goes against the goals of weight loss, therefore they don’t prescribe it at all.

 

The program is built around five pillars of health: mindset, nutriton,strength training, burst training and environment. Many of the facts and tips he suggests I already knew but it was a great refresher. The book is laid out in a clear and concise way that helps you make your own plan to be fit for life.

Progresso Sauce Helps Make Dinner Fast & Tasty Plus Giveaway

Progresso has launched a new pasta and sauce product in Michigan that you can only get at Meijer. These are new slow-simmered, restaurant-inspired sauces and artisanal pastas. They include premium ingredients, complex flavors, and no preservatives and are available now in Meijer’s freezer section.

They come in three different flavors: Marsala Sauce,  Red Pepper Sauce and White Wine Sauce. Each box comes with four packages inside so you are ready for four different meals.  You don’t even have to unfreeze them before using them. Perfect for those hectic days.

I think these would be perfect to help with meal planning.  In my grocery savings workshops, I have a section on 15 minute meals.  These sauces can hep you get dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes with lots of flavor. (I will be giving away some free product coupons at the August classes too!)

I tried the white wine sauce this week and loved it.  I made a quick meal of chicken, broccoli and rice.  I cooked the chicken in the skillet with a bit of olive oil.  Just before I was ready to take it out I added the Progesso white wine sauce.  You are supposed to cook the sauce in a pan but I was lazy and just added it directly to the skillet.  I had taken it out of the freezer about 10 minutes prior so it was a bit thawed.  It worked out great and gave the chicken tons of great flavor. Plus I only had to clean one pan.

I also liked that you can add the sauce last in case you have picky eaters at home like me who only like their chicken plain with ranch.
