Discovery Girls Cover Creator App & Magazine Review & Giveaway

If you are like me, you may remember the days when to get yourself on the cover of the magazine you had to actually be famous or vist an amusement park with a magazine photo booth. Now girls can make their own magazine covers on an iPad, IPhone or ITouch with  Discovery Girls Cover Creator App!

Girls can create a cover with any photo from their album or take a picture with the camera. There are templates or create they can create their own unique design! They are able to place designed titles, cover lines, and embellishments…or create and add their own text and drawings! The possibilities are endless.

Both my daughters loved playing with it and making up cover after cover. One of my oldest daughter’s favorites is pictured above which is Girls Rule magazine. Gotta love that! My youngest daughter’s covers all had pictures of Littest Pet Shop Toys and the articles all had to do with toys and animals.  I love that they could be creative while using technology.

 

Somehow my babies grew up and became teens. I love that Discovery Girls articles and features are written by girls, for girls. This means the content touches on topics that really matter to tweens.

The  goal of the magazine is to help girls grow and develop, forming a positive sense of self through solutions that build confidence, resilience and independence.

  • Provides a community where girls can interact, share ideas, and realize they’re not alone

My 10 year old loves reading this magazine. I love that the pictures are of real girls and they are dressed in nice age appropriate clothing. There was a pull out of hairstyles in one issue that my daughter still looks over and gets ideas on how to wear her hair.

Today is my anniversary of 2 years blogging here at BargainShopperMom.com.  I thank you all for reading and helping this website grow!!! I love being able to share deals with all of you and help you live a better life on a budget.

I have added lots of great features over the last few years.  I added a online coupon code database. This database has 1000s of coupon codes that can help you save any time you buy online.  I VERY rarely buy anything online without a coupon code. Please  always be sure to check this database before buying online.

I also have added a coupon database.  If you are heading to the grocery store, why not spend a few minutes to see if there are any coupons for what you are buying.  Every bit you save you can use to spend on the things you want which could be anything from adorable kids clothing to a Venti Skinny Cinnamon Dolce Latte at Starbucks.  (Did you guess I was talking about myself? :) )

In addition,  I have started teaching Grocery Savings workshops in Metro Detroit in partnership with Savings.com.  I have two classes scheduled for June and 1 so far in July and in August.  I love that this class teaches realistic couponing, meal planning and  how to watch grocery sale cycles.  You don’t have to spend hours and hours cutting coupons in order to save a bunch of money. I can teach you how to save $100s of dollars with not too much effort.

Uprinting is a great source for cheap sticker printing.  There are tons of uses for these stickers. I plan to use a set for my Grocery Savings Workshops.

We all know that schools are seriously underfunded and many teachers have great ideas but just don’t have the funds to move their idea to a reality in the classroom. That is why I am so excited to team up with Donors Choose and Savings.com on a great program.
