I was teaching a grocery savings class last night and was raving about Mint so I thought I would repost this info for you all. I have been using it since the beginning of the year and couldn’t be happier. I love knowing where my money is going and am trying to make better choices. I absolutely love the iPhone app that works with Mint. I can tell at a glance how we are doing against our budgets. The best part about the program is that it is FREE and easy to use. How can you beat that?!
Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to better manage your money? Mine is. I want to better track where our money is going and set up more automatic savings. I have heard excellent things about Mint.com. It does most of the work for you so you can see where your money is going and make changes if needed.
I also love that the program is free.
Mint makes it easy to build a budget — and stick to it. The free budgeting software puts all of your personal finances, including your bank accounts, credit cards and investments all in one place. All you have to do is enter your information and Mint automatically creates personal budgets for you
Mint automatically downloads and categorizes your transactions every night so you can see where to cut back.
Also once you set a goal, Mint will remind you via text message if you’re about to go over your budget. Then you can apply those savings to your credit card debt or maybe a vacation fund.
I am very behind on entering data into Quicken Deluxe so I have decided to start with a clean slate with Mint.com. As I use it, I will update you on how it is going and the savings I am trying to incorporate into our budget.
I have friends who rave about Mint.com so I trust their advice I am signing up today.
Do you use a budget? Are you happy with the software you use? Let me know as we go down this money management road.
