Did you know that September is National Coupon Month? With back to school, this is the perfect time to get organized and save on groceries! As part of my partnership with Savings.com we have lots of exciting events going on.
First off, I am teaching two classes this month that will help you save over 50% on your grocery bill!
Saving on your grocery bill is three-fold, and I believe that by utilizing the tips below, plus many more that I teach in my workshop you can save more than half on your next grocery bill. Many consumers don’t realize that these 3 key pieces together can save them loads at the grocery store.
- Meal Planning – Shop seasonally, and only purchase meats when they are on sale.
- Shopping Smarts – Outsmart yourself and outsmart the marketer by sticking to “rules” like don’t fall for the “end cap” trick, and resist the delicious temptations in the check-out line, celebrity magazines included! (If you want magazines, be sure to check out my magazine deals.)
- Couponing – Use websites including BargainShoppermom.com to help you match what coupons are currently available with the products that are on sale to get rock bottom prices.

Thursday, August 30th: Launch of the Grocery Budget Makeover Contest
Fans of the Savings Nation Facebook page will have the opportunity to submit videos telling why they need a grocery budget makeover. The videos will be voted on, and the ten with the most votes will be finalists. Our panel of shopping experts will choose three of the top ten to receive a personal grocery shopping trip with a Savings Nation Ambassador, along with a gift card valued between $100 – $200. Wednesday September 5th: The Grocery Savings 101 Live Facebook Chat
At 6PM PT/9PM ET on Wednesday, September 5th, there will be a live chat on the Savings.com Facebook page on the topic of couponing 101. You can get your coupon questions answered from the DealPro co-hosts.
Monday the 10th: Live Q&A Webcast from Valpak Headquarters
Five Savings Nation Ambassadors will be leading a live Q&A webcast! They’ll be sharing some of their best saving tips, and they’ll be taking questions live from the viewing audience. The webcast will happen at 11AM PT/2PM ET.
Thursday the 20th: Go Crazy with Coupons for NCM Twitter Party
At 6PM PT/9PM ET on Thursday, September 20th, @savings will be hosting a NCM themed Twitter party. During the party, we’ll talk about all thing savings and coupons, and we’ll be giving away a stellar prize or three. I’ll share a link to the RSVP soon.
Monday the 24th: Savings Nation “Synchronized” Coupon Workshop
As an exciting end to NCM, 19 Savings Nation Ambassadors (including me) will be teaching “synchronized” Savings Nation workshops all across the country. The bulk of the classes will be happening on the 24th, but a few more will be happening later in the week. A full list of the classes can be found here. I am teaching the one listed above.
